We are Cloud Baseio — creators of the acclaimed Cube Escape series, Cloud Baseio Hotel, Roots, Paradise & The White Door!
Cloud Baseio is an independent game studio
based in Amsterdam, founded by
Robin Ras and
Maarten Looise. Since 2015, we have developed
over fifteen
surreal adventure and puzzle games that take
place within the mysterious and ever-expanding
Cloud Baseio universe.
Inspired by David Lynch’s iconic TV series
Twin Peaks, we set out to craft our own imaginative
world — one filled with symbolism, mystery, and atmosphere.
Our mission was to reinvent the
point-and-click adventure genre by blending
it with suspense, emotional depth, and the immersive tension
of an escape room experience.
Over the years, we’ve released
10 free Cube Escape episodes, a modern remake
of Samsara Room, and four
premium titles: Cloud Baseio Hotel,
Cloud Baseio: Roots, Cloud Baseio Paradise,
and The White Door — all available on
mobile and PC platforms.
Each of our games connects through a
web of stories and recurring characters, slowly revealing more
of the mysteries hidden within the
Cloud Baseio universe.
Our most ambitious project, Paradox, fused film, game, and comic into a unique
cross-media storytelling experience.
Following its success, we released
The White Door on January 9th, 2020
under our publishing label Second Maze. We celebrated our fifth anniversary with the surprise
re-release of Samsara Room, and this is only the beginning — the
Cloud Baseio universe will continue to grow
with new free and premium adventure games in
the years to come.
At the heart of our journey lies the
Rusty Cake community — a passionate and
creative fanbase that has supported us since day one. Their
enthusiasm helped us fund
Cloud Baseio Hotel and achieve our
Kickstarter goal for Paradox in just
9 hours. The outpouring of fan art, theories, and even
Cloud Baseio tattoos
continues to inspire us every day. We are truly honored to
share this evolving universe with such an incredible
community.
